This is the story of a woman on the run from a crazy obsessed Detective. The more lurid, shocking, heroic, (fill in the blank), the more it will sell. to the Mini-Cooper family.. As a supplement, this is great!Sra. She gave it a warm review in "Time Bites," her collection of nonfiction pieces, so I sought it out for the Kindle and gave it a read. Each chapter contains extensive references and all key contributors to the science and technology over the past thirty years are cited. This is my all-time favorite book! I read it as an undergraduate German major - in German, of course! The story has so many messages - how what we don't face will come back to us; how much of life we miss when we're to afraid to live it; how things become more intense and beautiful when love is in our hearts. I will read everything that he will write.. It describes powerful anger and the control it can have.On the other side of that it shows where determination to live each day to it's fullest will take you.. After reading statistics and informed but anxiety fueled " parenting " books that did little more than make me wish I left my head firmly buried in the sand reading this book was a rewarding and confidence building experience.I laughed at the humorous asides

The author of twelve novels and several volumes of essays and plays, he was the first Canadian to be inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters.

. Robertson Davies (1913-1995) had three successive careers during the time he became an internationally acclaimed author: actor, publisher, and, finally, professor at the University of Toronto

And while Davies writes with great authority, he's thankfully never pedantic, and his comments about books, which range from children's titles to Ulysses, are always delivered in a charmingly unpretentious manner. This posthumous collection of two dozen essays stands as the lively recollections of a great reader: Davies talks praises the books he's loved, damns the books he's hated, and seeks to answer the eternal question of why we read books. . The individual essays are all beautifully written, and cracking this book will no doubt encourage readers to track down many of the authors and titles that Davies covered. The great Canadian novelist Robertson Davies spent his long life in love with books
